EVA RENEWS WITH NAVTECH FOR FLIGHT PLANNING
Known for safety, EVA Airways will continue to rely on Navtech
July 13, 2010 (TORONTO) - Navtech, Inc., a leader in flight operations software and services, has signed a five-year renewal of its agreement with EVA Airways, a Taiwan-based passenger and cargo airline, to provide flight planning for its fleet of Airbus A330-200s and Boeing 777s. EVA has gained worldwide recognition for its focus on flight safety and use of advanced flight analysis equipment to track aircraft operations, engine conditions and flight performance.
"This is a particularly high honor for Navtech because it proves to us that our systems provide the efficiency and quality required for EVA to maintain its position as one of the top ten safest airlines in the world," said Mike Hulley, Navtech CEO. "We're delighted to continue what has been an exceptionally close working relationship."
EVA flies to major business and leisure centers worldwide, including Europe, Oceania and North America, and serves more destinations in Asia than any other carrier. Its relationship with Navtech began more than five years ago when Navtech became the airline's flight planning solutions provider via DispatchPro. EVA will now use the new Navtech Flight Plan (NFP) solution, which includes an updated browser-based user interface that allows its users to easily operate dynamic route construction functions and optimization capabilities. For example, NFP has advanced route construction tools which make it particularly adept at negotiating complicated airspace and areas where restrictions include short trips. The tools can optimize these trips for least cost, least time or least fuel, benefitting both cargo and passenger flights.
